World Archery Asia has officially announced the postponement of the 2026 Asia Cup Leg II, originally scheduled to be held in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, from April 21–26.

According to the official communication, the event has now been rescheduled to October 25–30, 2026, with the venue remaining unchanged. The decision comes in light of the ongoing geopolitical situation in West Asia, with the federation prioritising the safety and well-being of all participants.

The development marks a significant shift in the 2026 continental archery calendar. The opening leg of the Asia Cup was successfully conducted in Bangkok from March 21–27, while the third leg is expected to take place in China in November.

India delivered a strong performance in the opening leg, emerging among the top-performing nations with a total of 10 medals across categories. The results provided early momentum for the season and highlighted the team’s depth in both recurve and compound divisions.

With Leg II now pushed to late October, the circuit will witness an extended gap of several months between the first and second stages. This disruption could impact athletes’ competitive rhythm, forcing them to recalibrate training cycles and maintain peak form over a longer period without tournament exposure.

The revised schedule also compresses the latter half of the season, with two stages likely to be held in quick succession. As a result, consistency and adaptability could play a crucial role in determining performances across the Asia Cup circuit this year.
